Navistar recalls more than 250 trucks due to seat belt problems

January 30, 20240

Navistar has announced a recall impacting nearly 300 of their severe and medium-duty vehicles, specifically the 2024 International HV and MV model trucks.

This recall, initiated on January 18th, involves a potential issue with 297 trucks. The concern is centered around the driver’s seat belt tether bolt, which may not have been correctly installed in the anchor. This flaw could lead to a malfunction at the anchor point, compromising the seat belt’s ability to secure the driver properly in the event of a crash.

To address this, dealers will conduct inspections and replace any problematic seat belts at no cost. Owners of the affected trucks can expect to receive notification letters in March about this issue.

For further assistance or information, owners can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825, referencing recall number 24501.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has assigned this recall the number 24V-026.
