The NYPD made an unusual drug seizure after a truck crashed into an overpass.

On the afternoon of April 17, a truck driver called police to a Walmart parking in Fredonia, New York. A truck driver told police that he hit an overpass on I-90 and drove into a Walmart parking lot to assess damage.

The driver climbed onto the roof of the trailer and reportedly found packages of marijuana hidden on the roof of the trailer that had been discovered due to hitting the bridge.

Fredonia police said there was a strong smell of marijuana at the parking.

The impact on the bridge damaged the marijuana bags and spilled some of the marijuana into the parking lot as emergency workers used a crane to retrieve 750 pounds of drugs hidden on the top of the trailer.

Several agencies are investigating the incident, including the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, the Fredonia Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
