FMCSA removes 4 electronic registration devices (ELD)
On Tuesday, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced that four electronic registration devices (ELDs) have been moved to the “cancelled” list.
The FMCSA has removed the following ELDs:
ELD Name | Model Number | ELD Identifier | ELD Provider |
ALL TRUCKERS ELD | ARS | ARS194 | All Truckers ELD |
GOLDEN ELD | GRS | GRS199 | GOLDEN ELD |
PRIMELD | PRS | PRS139 | Primeld |
SECURE ELD | SRS | SRS224 | WBCS GROUP LLC |
Carriers using any of these ELDs are encouraged to take the following steps:
1. Stop using canceled ELDs and return to paper logs or software to record required service hours.
2. Replace withdrawn ELDs with compatible ELDs from the list of registered devices by September 23, 2023.
FMCSA gives carriers 60 days to replace ELDs. Truckers that continue to use the recalled devices listed above will be considered non-ELD effective September 23, 2023.
Security officials who encounter a driver using a recalled device on or after September 23, 2023 must remove the driver from service.
