Wyoming Patrol decommissioned truck at checkpoint

May 5, 20230

This week, the Wyoming Highway Patrol Commercial Carrier Control (WHP-CC) fined a truck driver after a truck with serious tire problems drove into a checkpoint.

In a May 4 social media post, WHP-CC explained what led to the fine and decommissioning:

On Wednesday night, officers at the Evanston checkpoint spotted a trailer truck with significant tire damage. As soon as the commercial vehicle came to a stop, one of our CVSA inspectors performed a second level inspection.

The test showed that on the tandem axle of the passenger side trailer, three of the four tires were flat. The truck was taken out of service until the tires were repaired.

The driver was fined. In the coming weeks, a large number of police officers, inspectors and officers will focus on the safety of commercial vehicles.

This example should remind drivers of vehicle maintenance.
