Wisconsin patrol changes to trucks to identify violators

July 10, 20230

The Wisconsin State Patrol (WSP) will ride trucks all week to detect traffic violations by drivers.

The operation is called “Trooper in a Truck” and will take place as part of the “Safe Driver Week”, which runs from July 9 to 15.

In partnership with the Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association, WSP deploys employees in semi-trucks to patrol the state’s highways.

The patrol will ride trucks and look for unsafe driving patterns, speeding, ignoring seat belts, etc. If any violations are detected from the cab of the truck, the soldier will call a patrol unit to stop the movement.

This review will also affect Illinois, Wyoming and Nebraska and some other states.
