States where troopers monitor truckers during this week

July 20, 20210

Officers from six states have embarked on enhanced road traffic enforcement.

Compliance efforts are dubbed the «Six-State Trooper Project» and take place from 18 to 24 July. The project involves troopers from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

“During this period, motorists can expect to see an increased presence of our troopers on the roadsides conducting traffic stops. Drivers are encouraged to not drive distracted, to be increasingly aware of the need to move over or slow down as required by state law…” the Indiana State Patrol (ISP) said.

Troopers will be emphasizing violations of Indiana’s Move Over/Slow Down law, which requires drivers to move to an adjacent traffic lane or reduce speed by 10 mph below the posted speed limit if unable to change lanes safely.
