Indiana to close several truck stops for extended periods
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced the closure of several major facilities starting next month as part of a project to add new truck parking spaces across the state.
On June 1, INDOT will close Clear Creek at I-70, and the northbound and southbound Lebanon Rest Areas at I-65.
All properties are closed for construction projects, which are expected to last 2 years. The rest area upgrades are part of INDOT’s plan to allocate more than $600 million to improve 21 rest areas by the end of 2030.
Representatives say more than 1,100 semi-trailer parking spaces will be added to INDOT facilities across the state by the end of the period.
