FMCSA recalls two more ELD devices

September 15, 20230

On Thursday, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recalled two electronic logging devices (ELDs) from its list of approved devices due to the supplier’s failure to comply with federal requirements.

The FMCSA has added the FALCON ELD and KSK ELD to the agency’s list of recalled devices.

Carriers will be given a 60-day window to replace the recalled devices. During this time, law enforcement “is advised not to issue citations to drivers using a recalled ELD.”

Beginning November 13, 2023, motor carriers that continue to use the recalled devices listed above will be considered to be operating without an ELD.

Law enforcement will be asked to issue a fine and stop work order.

FMCSA has already removed other ELDs from its list of approved devices this year: All-Ways Track ELD, ONE PLUS ELD, ELD ONE, Nationwide ELD, ALL TRUCKERS ELD, GOLDEN ELD, PRIMELD, and SECURE ELD.
