XPO launched a new Road Flex program for truckers

October 26, 20230

XPO has launched an off-road operation staffed exclusively by team drivers called Road Flex.

According to a press release, the program is part of the company’s previously announced strategy “to leverage third-party transportation miles for increased efficiency, expected cost savings and improved customer service.”

To support the program, the company is currently recruiting teams of truck drivers who will travel designated routes between XPO facilities on trucks equipped with sleeping quarters and other amenities for on-the-go comfort.

Tim Staroba, President of XPO East, said: “The launch of Road Flex is a key step in accelerating our plan to attract third-party miles and improve the efficiency of our network. This will allow us to reduce costs and improve customer service by minimizing re-handling of shipments and speeding up delivery. We look forward to the growth of this new program and the great team pilots who will join XPO to support it.”

A typical work week for Team Road Flex drivers consists of five days on the road, followed by two days off. While schedules may occasionally change due to network conditions, XPO is committed to providing job flexibility and balance, as well as industry-leading compensation and benefits.
