FMCSA adds recently revoked ELD to list of registered

August 3, 20230

The electronic registration device, which was recently added to the recall list, has been reinstated and cleared for use.

On July 26, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced that Golden ELD was once again added to the list of registered ELDs.

The agency had put the device on the recall list just the day before. The FMCSA statement said the Golden ELD was added to the recall list because the device did not meet minimum requirements, namely that the ELD display was not viewable from the outside of a commercial vehicle.

However, the agency did not provide any details as to why Golden ELD’s status changed. Golden ELD was one of four electronic registration devices, along with All Truckers ELD, PRIM ELD and Secure ELD, that were recently delisted from the FMCSA approved list.

Other devices removed in 2023 for the same violation include Nationwide ELD, TMS ONE’s ELD ONE, ELD ONE PLUS, and ELD All-Ways Track.

There are 159 electronic registration devices in the withdrawn list. There are currently 823 devices on the list of registered ELDs.
