“By own efforts”: TA budgets $ 200 million to modernize truck stops for drivers

As a part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, TravelCenters of America scheduled to renew truck stops across the country.

In the announcement on September 16, TA said the company is spending nearly $ 200 million on upgrading “most important areas for our drivers, including showers, parking spaces and convenience stores.”

TA said that in the new shower locations will installed shower units, sinks, lighting and floor. The driver’s lounges will be painted in uplifting colors and will be renovated with new chairs, TVs and lighting.

By the end of 2022, it is planned to renew more than 100 existing truck stops.

“We are here to serve our professional drivers, and if we create the right atmosphere, they will be happier and we will be more successful,” said the CEO of the company, Jonathan M. Perchik.
