Texas seizes record cocaine batch hidden in baby wipes
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized a large shipment of cocaine in Texas disguised as baby wipes.
On October 6, a trucker from Mexico pulled up to a facility at a Bridge of the Americas freight depot in El Paso, Texas. The CBP carried out a thorough inspection twice, but only the border dogs were able to smell the contraband.
The police examined the truck and found 128 pounds of pure cocaine worth $12 million.
The drugs and the semi-trailer were seized by CBP. The Department of Homeland Security is currently investigating.
Ray Provencio, director of the CBP port in El Paso, said that “there hasn’t been such a large cocaine seizure in the last 20 years.”
