December 26, 20220

The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that two service areas will be closed for reconstruction in the near future.

Beginning on January 1, 2023, the Ramapo service area on I-87 south between exits 16 and 15A and the Warners service area on I-90 west between exits 39 and 40 will be closed.

NYS Thruway reports that fuel services will be available at both locations during the closure period. Both sites will be fully redesigned according to a new concept, with the addition of restaurants, Taste NY, outdoor relaxation areas, and pet walking areas.

The Thruway Authority today announced upcoming changes that will impact 11 service areas on the New York State Thruway starting Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. The changes are part of the project to redevelop the 27 Thruway service areas.

The service area construction project is part of a larger campaign, which began in summer 2021, to reconstruct 27 Thruway service areas.
