Landslide on I-84 possible in Oregon

February 13, 20230

The Oregon Department of Transportation is monitoring an active landslide.

Landslide detected on Interstate 84 eastbound, 17 miles west of Ontario, Oregon.

The 200-yards-long and 100-yards-wide slide was created after the snow had melted. If the movement of soil on the slope of the hill continues, it may interfere with the traffic lanes in the east and west directions.

The brigades are ready to block traffic lanes at any moment if necessary. Data is being collected and engineers are working on possible repair plans.

ODOT asks drivers to be careful in this area and be prepared for delays and detours.
