Alabama Motor Express, Alabama, opened a new terminal in Jackson, Georgia and looks for new drivers to its fleet.

The Jackson location brings its closer major customers and expands footprint in one of the nation’s largest hubs, according to the company.

The terminal is located approximately 40 miles south of Atlanta. Its trailer park will include about 60 units in a secured site. The company said it is committed to fully staffing the terminal with more than 50 logistics and operations professionals as well as experienced certified drivers.

The team will be backed by a growing holding company with logistics offices and terminals throughout Georgia and Alabama.

AMX expects that with more drivers with a wider range of knowledge of the region, the company will be able to improve service levels by offering drivers more flexibility to balance between work and home.

«We are committed to new ways of serving our customers,» said Jared Moore, AMX vice president of traffic and logistics. «The new terminal gives our Atlanta customers faster, also faster access to an always-on trailer fleet, local drivers and strategic support.»

«Regional expertise and availability are critical in managing capacity, tariffs and contingencies. We’ve served a huge part of Atlanta for over 30 years. We now have the resources to better engage with customers, be it last-minute delivery, face-to-face strategy meetings, or just a lunch break. We are part of the local community and we are committed to helping it continue to thrive.»
