Last year many automakers announced the electrification of their heavy trucks, vans and semi-trailers. So did Volvo.
The company led Low Impact Green Heavy Transport Solution (LIGHTS) that helped it to start its truck electrification. In October Volvo received the order for 70 VNR Electric. It will be deployed from Q1 2021 to Q3 2022.
The truck is equipped with a 264 kWh battery.
Other advantages of VNR Electric: fast charging (80%) in 70 minutes, top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h), range of up to 150 miles depending on configuration.
There will be three models of truck: a straight truck, a 4×2 tractor and a 6×2 tractor.
