Peterbilt trucks were called off cause truckers started to fall

January 27, 20220

Several thousand Peterbilt 579 trucks were recalled by Paccar Company after discovering a problem with a cab step.

In particular, the call off affects over 3500 Peterbilt 579 trucks of 2022 model year.

Based on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the bolts holding the running board chassis aero structure in the closed position can loosen and break the latch mount, causing the aero body kit to flex.

A badly fixed cab step can move when the trucker enters or exits the cab. This could result in a fall and serious injuries.

In March Paccar plans on notifying owners who were harmed by Peterbilt 579 trucks. Dealers will add brackets and new fasteners to the trucks for free.
