Truckload Carriers Association funds young truck drivers
The process of filing for funding began for students in the trucking industry.
The Truckers Association Scholarship Fund launched an online application process this week.
The Foundation allocates approximately $6250 per year for each full-time college student. Any student with good credit (minimum average grade of 3.0) associated with a TCA member company can get this funding. The student must be attending an accredited four-year college or university in their first or second year.
The receiver of a TCA scholarship has to show financial need as well as academic achievement, retain full-time student status, and be a responsible, upright individual in accordance with TCA principles.
Scholarships are given regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, age, equal pay, disability or genetic information.
In the 2021-22 academic year, the Board of Trustees of the TCA Scholarship Fund gave students more than 55 scholarships, totaling more than $163000.
