The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has changed the amount of fines for violation of the rules of goods transportation.
On January 6, 2023, the FMCSA published a Final Rule that increases penalties imposed for violating DOT rules, taking into account rising inflation.
As of 2015, all federal agencies are required to adjust fine levels in accordance with the Federal Civil Fines Inflation Adjustment Act.
