What awaits truckers in National Appreciation Week

September 12-18 is the time when the whole America is showing gratitude to freight workers, in particular, truck drivers, for their hard work and delivery of essential goods.

According to the American Trucking Associations (ATA), truckers delivered 11,84 billion tons of cargo across the country last year. Today, more than 80% of US communities rely on truckers to deliver goods. This allows even the most remote areas of the country to enjoy almost all the benefits of society.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week has been celebrating annually since 1998 as a way to thank truckers for their great work. Various companies and organizations are holding many different events this year to show their appreciation to professional drivers.

NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his racing team united with Pilot Flying J to raise awareness of the trucking importance. On the hood # 1 of the Pilot Flying J Chevrolet NASCAR it says, “If you have something, the truck driver brought it”, and on the back of the car it says – #ThankATrucker.

In addition, Pilot Co. encourages car drivers to join the Trucker Salute campaign. Throughout the month, Pilot Stores will offer professional drivers free drinks, bonus points and other privileges.

The company also prepared a warm-hearted video about the gesture of greeting truckers that is no longer as popular as it used to be.

To bring back this beloved tradition, the company is asking to share a video of the Trucker Salute on social media. Pilot Co. will donate $ 5 to Trucking Moves America Forward (TMAF) for every post tagged @PilotFlyingJ and hashtag #ThankATrucker.
