Police are stepping up patrols on I-70 this weekend to crack down on speeding and other violations.

Starting Friday, October 8 at 12:01 AM through Sunday, October 10 at 11:59 PM, the Ohio Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police, and Indiana State Police will join forces to patrol I-70.

Police will watch for speeding, drunk driving and violation of seat belt regulations.

The I-70 enforcement effort is part of the 6-State Trooper Project, a multi-state law enforcement partnership focused on traffic safety, crime patrol, and intelligence sharing.

Several times a year, the 6-State Trooper Project of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and West Virginia State Police join forces to fight traffic violations and crime.
