Tracker arrested for fatal 16-vehicle crash in February

On April 15, Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported that the trucker who caused the massive accident on the Huey P. Long Bridge in Jefferson Parish is caught and arrested.

On Thursday morning LSP reported they have arrested 42-year-old truck driver Marlin Jordan. He is charged with provoking the crash that occurred around 8:30 a.m. on February 23, 2021 on US 190 (Mississippi River Old Bridge). The accident killed a 13-year-old teenager.

The initial investigation revealed that the accident occurred when 42-year-old Marlin Jordan of Addis was driving a 2007 Kenworth eastbound on US Hwy 190. Jordan approached on the down slope of the highway and was unable to stop. Kenworth crashed several cars triggering a chain reaction. The teenager was in one of the 16 cars involved in the accident.

LSP conducted a thorough investigation and found that Jordan’s negligence caused the accident.

 On Wednesday, Jordan was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
