New chain-up stations for truck drivers appear in Colorado

July 29, 20220

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced a new project to build chain-up areas for truck drivers and motorists near Alma and Grant.

The cost of the project is about 5 million dollars.

Station locations are listed below:

The first phase of the project is to start at CO 285 near Grant. “CDOT prioritizes road projects that help our commercial trucks move safely on key roads such as CO 9 and 285,” said Shoshana Lew, chief executive of CDOT.

The construction of chain zones will take place from Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 19:00. Construction work will be carried out on the roadside, but occasionally flaggers will be present to direct traffic.

CDOT says the project will be completed by July 2023.
