Minnesota family gave the drivers hope
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new travel truck stop was held on Monday.
The project was a long-standing dream of the Freiberg family from Mankato, Minnesota. “You have no idea how excited we are. It’s been a lifelong dream of ours,” said Corey Freyberg.
Together with his brother Tyler and their father Stephen, he laid a groundwork of fundamental project, which will bring long-awaited amenities to the area.
The truck stop will be located on the east side of Mankato at the County Road 12 and Adams Street intersection. It will include 70 truck kiosks, eight diesel fueling stations, truck scales, and a two-story building with a restaurant and amenities – four restrooms, showers and laundry.

The Mankato area is known to have a lack of resting places for truck drivers.
“We are trying to help with the truck overpopulation in town. There is a lot of trucks parking on the street over there. So, we’re going to provide them with a nice place to come to,” said Tyler Freyberg.
In addition, a new roundabout must be built by the time this truck stop opens.
