Citizen are against new truck stops in Florida
Citizen of the country in Florida oppose to the construction of new truck stops while authorities think otherwise.
Previously, citizens did not collectively support the project of a huge truck stop on I-4 in West Volusia, Florida. The Department of Transportation decided to take up this issue again.
Although residents did not support this idea for several years in a row, the Florida Department of Transportation, together with the Transportation Planning Organization, had proposed to create 500 truck parking spaces along I-4 corridors in Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties. These parking spaces would be created as large one or four separate spaces.

“They have identified a deficit of truck parking availability on I-4,” said River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization Executive Director Lois Bollenback. “On I-4, the only truck parking is the Longwood station”.
Bollenback also paid attention to the safety problem. After all, truck drivers spend a lot of time looking for a place to sleep and can fall asleep while driving.
