Campaign «I-95 Drive to Save Lives» started yesterday

State cops banded together for a two-day traffic enforcement event on I-95.

From Friday, April 8 through Saturday, April 9, troops from all states that line I-95 are taking part in the «I-95 Drive to Save Lives» campaign.

The purpose of the campaign is to test traffic enforcement to reduce fatal crashes on I-95. Pennsylvania will be among 15 states, from Maine to Florida, participating in the campaign.

The Delaware State Police is the lead agency coordinating the campaign. Participating agencies include the Florida Highway Patrol, North Carolina Highway Patrol, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Georgia Highway Patrol, Virginia State Police, Maryland State Police, Delaware State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, New Jersey State Police, New York State Police, Connecticut State Police, Rhode Island State Police, New Hampshire State Police, Massachusetts State Police and Maine State Police.

Delaware Law Enforcement will also participate in the Delaware Lifesaving Movement Simultaneous Campaign, in which Delaware Law Enforcement will patrol their own jurisdiction.
