Arizona gonna check truckers for safe driving

February 19, 20220

The Arizona Department of Public Safety declared that it’ll run a blitz check-up on compliance with the requirements for commercial vehicles next week in the south of the state.

According to the AZDPS, Operation «South Shield 2022» will be held since Tuesday, Feb. 22 to Friday, Feb. 25, on Interstate 10 from Phoenix to the New Mexico border and on Interstate 19 to the international border.

The aim of the review will be to detect violations of the Commercial Vehicle Unsafe Driving (CMV) regulations, as well as teaching drivers to operate safely and with compliance to lower the number of accidents with trucks.

Other agencies helping with this job are the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Administration, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Marana Police Department, Oro Valley Police Department, and Tucson Police Department.

The operation will be headed by the AZDPS Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Task Force (CVETF), including AZDPS Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers and Arizona Department of Transportation Enforcement and Compliance Officers.
