A research published by the US Department of National Renewable Energy Laboratory shows that continuous improvements in vehicle and fuel technology will enable green trucks to become cheaper and more affordable over the next decade.

Today, medium- and heavy-duty trucks account for less than 5% of vehicles on the road, but generate more than 20% of emissions in the transportation sector, which currently accounts for more than one-third of US greenhouse gas emissions.

Moreover, according to all forecasts, by 2030 every third new truck will operate on electric traction, and by 2035 such vehicles will become dominant: their share in sales will exceed 70%.
